Common questions

Before you visit

Do I need a referral?

For laser vision correction assessments, no referral is needed and you can book directly. For medical and surgical consultations, a referral from your GP or optometrist lets you claim any applicable Medicare rebate and helps us prepare for your visit.

Is laser eye surgery right for me?

Not everyone is a suitable candidate. Suitability depends on your prescription, corneal shape and thickness, eye health and lifestyle. We assess all of this before recommending any procedure. Like any surgery, laser vision correction carries risks, which your surgeon will discuss with you openly.

What will treatment cost?

Costs depend on the procedure and your individual circumstances. Laser suitability assessments are free. After your assessment you will receive a written, itemised quote before making any decision, with no obligation and no surprises.

How long does recovery take?

It depends on the procedure, and healing is different for everyone. Many LASIK patients notice clearer vision within a day, and SmartSight patients within a few days. Surface treatments like TransPRK take longer, with vision typically improving over one to three weeks as the surface heals. Your surgeon will map out what to expect for your procedure at your assessment.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Your referral if you have one, your current glasses or contact lens prescription, a list of your medications, and your Medicare and private health details. If you wear contact lenses, let reception know when you book, as lenses can affect the corneal measurements taken at a laser assessment.

Where do I park?

Paid parking is available off Burbury Close, directly under 3 Sydney Avenue. Take the lift to Level 2 and reception will point you the right way from there.
